Quick-Pin Opener

Features

Quick-Pin
Seed Hawk's unique opener design allows for individual depth gauging of both seed and fertilizer.
Adjustments can be made quickly and accurately with the Quick Pin depth setting.

The Quick-Pin style opener option features:
- Quick Pin depth setting with gear and sprocket assist
- Heavier 5/8" by 3 1/2" side beams
- Spindle and hub packer bearings

Accurate Shallow Seeding
Quick, even emergence delivers a crop that can compete with weeds, makes easy crop staging for spraying, and promotes even maturity across the field. The 'furrow effect' places the seed in the optimum position for access to fertilizer and moisture.

Precise Fertilizer Placement
Fertilizer is placed close enough to the seed to help with 'pop-up', but far enough away to avoid seeding damage.
Precision nutrient placement means being available to the plant all through the growing season and less available to weeds.

Faster Soil Warming
4" packer wheels leave a blackened furrow, an ideal environment for seeding establishment.
This furrow means faster soil warming and quicker emergence, even in cool, wet soil.

Options

Single Sideband Seed Knife Single Sideband Seed Knife
The original Seed Hawk single sideband seed knife delivers precise, accurate seed and fertilizer placement. The single sideband opener system is unparalleled for seedling safety and emergence. The dual knife system cuts a separate trench for the seed as well as the fertilizer, protecting the seedling and ensuring the seed is placed on undisturbed soil, resulting in quicker germination and ultimately delivering more even emergence. The original Seed Hawk single sideband setup accurately places fertilizer ¾-inch deeper and 1½ inches to the side of the single seed row.

Twin Wing Placement Twin Wing™ Seed Knife
The Twin Wing™ seed knife allows higher seedbed utilization on wider row spacings, improved trash clearance, more primary heads in cereals and increased crop competition for weeds. The Twin Wing seed knife follows directly behind the fertilizer knife, it cuts a shelf placing seed on undisturbed ground in two rows ¾-inch above and 1½ inches to the sides of the fertilizer band. A separate fertilizer knife runs 12 inches in front of the seed shank.

Mud Scrapers Mud Scrapers
Hardox steel mud scrapers are optional equipment to aid in seeding in wet or high trash conditions.
