"You get uniform emergence and it seems like every seed wants to grow. Originally what drew us to a Seed Hawk was the uniform emergence, but what has impressed me is ability to seed in adverse conditions. We were able to seed a lot of wet acres this year. Through the Sectional Control® I believe we've probably saved about eight and a half percent on our seed and fertilizer, this translates into about $170,000.00 in savings for our farm. Sectional Control saves huge dollars on the bottom line." Guy Cadrain, Leask, Saskatchewan "In the wet conditions we saw this spring SCT® worked tremendously, it works in all conditions of course, but in the wet conditions it allowed us to seed when other systems wouldn't. We feel that we saved 20 percent on input costs this spring. It's easy math: if you use $200 an acre, which is quite low for canola, and that drill went across 11,000 acres, 20 per cent, that's pretty huge." Kent Hanmer, Govan, Saskatchewan "The lay of our land is not straight back and forth, we have a lot of wedges and last pass overlaps. Our 84-foot drill with SCT really pays. On our 10,000 acre farm, using conservative numbers, we feel that we will save about $50,000 on crop inputs a year using Seed Hawk's Sectional Control technology." Dwayne Wolf, Wapella, Saskatchewan "My land is fairly sloughy. You wouldn't normally buy an 84-foot drill to seed it, but with the Sectional Control technology, you can do it. It saved us 10% on inputs over previous years. My inputs are running anywhere from $80 - $120 per acre. Depending on how the year goes, I expect that I'll save upwards of $80,000.00 on my 10,000 acres using it. It's like getting a free drill." Daniel Bonkowski, Wapella, Saskatchewan "Putting everything down in one pass in the right place has really improved our efficiency." John MacDougall, Moosomin, Saskatchewan "We are in a big Seed Hawk area and seeing the job they have been doing for other people made my decision easy." Duane Mclaren, Drake, Saskwatchewan "We were able to seed everything from one-half to three-quarters of an inch deep. The independent depth control across the width of the drill lets us seed that shallow, and in cold soils, seeding shallow is important." Paul Cherkas, Kamsack, Saskatchewan "We like the machine because of the individual openers following the contours of the land, which allows exact seed and fertilizer placement. That's a huge benefit to farmers. They can seed shallower and get better emergence." Leon Lozowchuk, General Manager "The reason we bought the machine was the consistent seed placement and fertilizer separation and packing." Allan Young, Lumsden, Saskatchewan "We brought the machine because of its seeding depth control. It's a one-pass operation." Allan Hutton, Redvers, Saskwatchewan "We really like the adjustable packing pressure on the Seed Hawk. If it starts getting dry we just dial up the pressure." Dale and Earl Slimmons, Creelman, Saskatchewan "I think the Seed Hawk difference is the independent depth control on each opener. It's like going back to the days of double disc drills where each opener operated independently. Seed Hawk reinvented the way to get even emergence under direct seeding." Gregg Adair, Westlock, Alberta It's day and night. We've had other seeders, but it's not even a competition when comparing them to a Seed Hawk. Its easier to pull, the emergence is much quicker and its much more even right across the whole field and the moisture is right at the top. Reg Syrnyk, Dauphin, Manitoba "On our small seeded crops like canola and flax we have decreased our seeding rates by 25 percent. I would recommend that people take a good look at Seed Hawk for the consistent and accurate placement of both seed and fertilizer." Bill Kuehn, Turtle Lake, North Dakota "My emergence has been very good. I have timely emergence and good seedling strength. I don't have seedling damage because of the side banding placement." Jim Zielsdorf, North Dakota "We were looking for accuracy, and depth control, and Seed Hawk gives us both. The seed emerges very fast and even. I would definitely reccomend a Seed Hawk. We've had ours for seven years and when we were looking to update, we didn't look at anything else." Eugene Urlacher, New England, North Dakota "I love Seed Hawk's SCT because of the fine tuning the operator can do, which minimizes seed and fertilizer overlaps. With fertilizer costs through the roof, reducing overlaps and wasted fertilizer adds up quickly! I really think the SCT drill is probably the best on the market. If other farmers give it a shot, they'd be really pleased with it." Cody Blanchet, Dutton, Montana "I like a nice thick stand, and with a Seed Hawk the emergence is just about perfect. Everything is uniform, even over the hills and in the draws – the Seed Hawk penetrates just about anything. I think the Seed Hawk is great – it’s just excellent." Jeff Mohn, Flaxville, Montana |
