Seed Hawk’s Seed Between the Rows* (SBR™) technology means each opener seeds between last year’s stubble rows. Research at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Swift Current shows that in drier regions tall stubble (12-inch) creates a better microclimate, resulting in better moisture use and higher yields than short stubble (6-inch).
Seed Hawk’s SBR technology allows openers to run between stubble rows, improving seed and fertilizer placement. Because the paddle senses stubble and not last years’s furrow, SBR still works even after heavy harrowing. Stubble can be cut taller at harvest, improving harvest efficiencies and increasing snow-trapping potential. Because the stubble is left standing, it acts as a barrier to help prevent an opener from throwing soil onto the neighboring row. This also allows for slightly faster, safe seeding speeds.Twin Wing deflectors*keep seed on undisturbed shelf for better emergence and prevent the seed from coming too close to the fertilizer band.
